Restoring Health; Rebuilding Lives.
Anita was living in the North Carolina mountains when she came to Charlotte for a medical condition. This condition had already reduced her work days to only twice a week for a few hours a day. While being seen in Charlotte she found out she had cancer. Back home there were no facilities to give her the cancer treatments she needed. She had to live in Charlotte, but she would be forced to live on the streets. Luckily, her treatment center referred her to Samaritan House. At Samaritan House she had a warm, safe place to stay with good food, quiet atmosphere, transportation to her daily treatments and help with obtaining her needed medications. Where before she had no real hope to beat the disease, now her treatments worked. Anita is now cancer free. She has income and has found a place of her own in Charlotte. "I thought I wouldn't be able to see my grandchildren again, and now I have a new one I can hold that I would have never seen. Samaritan House is a blessing."
